SUMMARY
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning, open to mentoring by top professionals, coaching, customer service, and developing problem solving skills. The role requires organization, time management, and communication skills.
The 2026 Summer Internship program will be onsite at Axiom Space in Houston, Texas from June 1 to August 21. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodations as no relocation or housing assistance will be provided.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with various teams within MI&O and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand software requirements.
Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that interact with databases and connect to external programs through APIs.
Create and optimize database queries, ensuring efficient and reliable data retrieval and storage.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Implement and adhere to SDL methodologies to deliver high-quality software within established timelines.
Provide support and troubleshooting for software applications, addressing bugs, issues, and enhancements as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
Rising Junior or Senior or Advanced Degree (MS/MA or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or related field
Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
Proficiency with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C#, React TypeScript, Java Script
Strong core development skills and understanding of software engineering principles
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges
Experience delivering software in an enterprise environment
Familiarity with performing work in an Agile environment preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate is a plus
Experience with Appian and/or Alteryx preferred but not required

Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
