POSITION SUMMARY
Axiom Space is a very complex work environment. We are looking for a resilient, high-energy Grounding and Bonding Engineer, that ensures the safe and effective grounding and bonding of all electrical systems within spacecraft and related infrastructure, in compliance with Axiom Space and NASA specifications. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that prevent electrical hazards such as static discharge. This involves verifying that all components are properly grounded to avoid potential damage from electrostatic discharges (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). This role requires you to adhere to Axiom Space and NASA’s strict standards, including NASA-STD-5001 and MIL-STD-1310, ensuring all conductive materials are bonded and grounded to mitigate risks through all phases of Axiom Space Projects. The role also requires testing and certification of all grounding and bonding systems to ensure reliability during mission-critical operations.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and analyze grounding and bonding architecture in accordance with grounding and bonding specifications and program requirements
Ensure protection against electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic interference, and fault currents for flight and ground systems
Develop and verify bonding paths, resistance requirements, and grounding schemes for structures, avionics, and support equipment
Perform inspection, testing, and validation to certify compliance with standards and requirements
Support system safety, hazard analysis, and failure investigations related to electrical grounding and bonding
Review drawings, procedures, and materials to ensure proper implementation across design, manufacturing, integration, and operations
Collaborate with systems, electrical, and safety engineering teams to resolve grounding and bonding issues throughout the program lifecycle
Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle
Perform additional job duties as assigned
