Electrical Engineering internship: test system development
Job Description
Introduction
The Re-Use and Repair Engineering team at ASML works on extending the life of high-value electronic components. This Electrical Engineering internship puts you right in the middle of that mission. You will help transform how repaired electronic boards are tested, moving from many board-specific tests toward one flexible, generic approach. In this Electrical Engineering internship, your work directly enables re-use and reduces waste across ASML’s global operations. You will have the freedom to experiment, build, and validate solutions that are used by the engineering team in Veldhoven.
Your assignment
This Electrical Engineering internship offers a high level of ownership and technical freedom. You will join an ongoing development project and actively help shape the final solution. Instead of starting from scratch, you will build on existing designs and tailor a commercial electronics test system to ASML’s specific re-use needs. You will work hands-on with real hardware and see the direct results of your work in daily engineering practice. Your main responsibilities will be:
Participate in engineering projects that develop and improve re‑use solutions for complex electronic boards
Contribute to the development of a qualification tester and qualification method for repaired electronic boards
Create, optimize, and maintain test recipes and test coverage for electronic board testing
Support the setup and documentation of operational manuals for electronic board testers
Work with engineering and supply chain stakeholders to define testing processes and tooling requirements
Analyze technical and qualification requirements and align them with involved stakeholders
Support the implementation, validation, and documentation of re‑use and test solutions
This is a bachelor's or master's internship (non-thesis) for a minimum of 5 months, which requires an investment of 32-40 hours per week. The internship is fully onsite in Veldhoven; though some flexibility is offered. It is set to start at the end of August 2026.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
Communicate confidently and enjoy talking with different stakeholders across teams and locations
Feel comfortable challenging existing approaches and proposing better technical solutions
Combine analytical thinking with a hands-on experience when working with electronic hardware
Take initiative, stay pragmatic, and keep moving forward in a changing project environment
Please submit your CV and motivation letter when applying for this role.

You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
