Introduction to the job

Customer Operations is accountable for translating commercial intent into order management and invoicing that is first-time-right, compliant, and scalable. As Customer Operations process expert for strategic initiatives, you close the capability gap between commercial model design and operational execution. You represent Customer Operations in senior commercial, finance, and transformation forums and co-own how commercial constructs are translated into executable invoicing and AR designs.

Role and responsibilities

Customer Operations is part of ASML's Business Services (ABS) organization. In your function of process expert for strategic initiatives, you will join the Customer Operations leadership team. You will represent Customer Operations in commercial, deal structuring, and transformation forums and will co-own upstream commercial-to-invoicing design decisions.

In this role, you will:

  • Translate business and finance requirements into executable SAP S/4HANA invoicing and AR designs
  • Define and maintain standard invoicing design patterns and guardrails aligned with revenue recognition and internal controls
  • Partner with IT, Finance Operations, Sales, Legal, and Tax to ensure feasible, compliant, and scalable solutions
  • Embed internal controls and data quality requirements into process and system design
  • Reduce structural debt by eliminating workarounds and preventing rework and manual corrections
  • Feed design decisions back into operations through clear documentation, playbooks, and training
  • Co-create and drive the continuous improvement roadmap using LEAN principles

Education and experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Order-to-Cash, invoicing, or revenue-related process design in a multinational environment
  • Experience with revenue recognition principles and internal controls
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders across functions

Skills

  • Strong SAP (ECC and S/4HANA) knowledge, including billing and FI/SD integration
  • LEAN/Green Belt certification interest
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels in a complex matrix
  • Ability to translate complexity into executable standards and clear decisions

  • Reduction in manual billing corrections and rework driven by design issues
  • Improved first-time-right invoicing rate
  • Shorter cycle time from commercial decision to deployable invoicing design
  • Reduction in post-go-live SAP change requests related to invoicing
  • No significant audit or control findings related to invoicing design
