
Computer Science | Data Science internship: program management office automation
Job Description
Introduction
The Program Management Office (PMO) at ASML supports projects and programs across the company. Our team focuses on improving execution by standardizing processes, enabling smarter ways of working, and accelerating data-driven decision-making. This PMO automation internship contributes to our goal of reducing manual work and increasing the use of intelligent automation. You will join a diverse and collaborative team that drives continuous improvement across the organization. This role is ideal if you want to apply AI skills to real business challenges.
Your assignment
During this internship, you will design and build small automation solutions that make PMO activities more efficient and accessible. You will explore how AI can simplify daily tasks, strengthen data quality, and support our steps toward an intelligent, future-ready PMO. You will work closely with PMO colleagues, learn from experts, and see your ideas turn into practical tools.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Analyze PMO workflows to identify automation opportunities.
Build simple AI-based prototypes that support reporting and information access.
Create scripts or low‑code solutions that reduce repetitive manual tasks.
Centralize information to improve data consistency and usability.
Test prototypes with PMO colleagues and gather feedback.
Document workflows and write clear user instructions.
Support exploration of long‑term automation possibilities for PMO.
This is a non‑thesis internship with a duration of minimum of 6 months, starting in early September 2026.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer science, data science, business and IT, or a related field.
Bring basic programming skills, preferably in Python.
Are analytical, curious, and comfortable exploring new technologies.
Work independently while also collaborating openly with others
You are a clear communicator in English and naturally take a proactive approach to challenges.
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
