This position requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI with CI poly level.
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer specializing in JavaScript web application design to create intuitive, elegant, and highly functional user experiences for a modern web-based Motion GEOINT product. This role will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to design responsive, user-centered interfaces for complex web applications.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with deep experience designing workflows, components, and interaction patterns for web applications built with modern JavaScript frameworks. They are comfortable translating business requirements and user needs into wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready design systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end user experiences for browser-based JavaScript applications, from concept through final handoff.
- Create wireframes, user flows, mockups, clickable prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Collaborate with product managers, users, and developers to define requirements and turn complex workflows into simple, intuitive experiences.
- Design responsive interfaces optimized for desktop and mobile web environments.
- Develop and maintain reusable design systems, component libraries, and web UI standards.
- Ensure consistency in visual design, interaction patterns, accessibility, and usability across products.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and stakeholder input.
- Advocate for best practices in UX, accessibility, and front-end product design.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with CI poly (or willingness to obtain a CI poly).
- Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design for web applications.
- Experience working closely with users, product, and engineering teams
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design work for JavaScript-based web applications, SaaS platforms, or interactive digital products.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Experience designing modern front-end environments using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and usability principles.
- Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with front-end implementation constraints, HTML/CSS, and component-based design.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Motion GEOINT data, concepts, and applications
- Experience with geospatial software application design
- Experience with Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence
- Keen understanding of web design and user experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile product development environments.
- Knowledge of design systems and scalable component libraries.
- Familiarity with developer handoff workflows and tools.
- Basic understanding of front-end coding practices in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience designing dashboards, workflow-heavy platforms, data-rich interfaces, or enterprise applications.
- Understanding of user research methodologies and analytics-informed design.
- Organizational skills
- Keen understanding of web design and user experience
Pay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $137,000.00 - $228,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
