Thyme CareRemoteFull Time

Job Description

OUR MISSION

We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.

Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.

As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.

Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role sits within the nursing vertical of Thyme Care’s Quality, Training and Enablement org, focused on the education and development of our nursing care team. You are the primary owner of how nurses at Thyme Care learn, develop, and stay current, building the programs, content, and infrastructure that equip our nursing team to deliver exceptional care at scale. You are distinct from the Training and Onboarding Manager, who owns new hire ramp programs across the broader care team. Your focus is the ongoing clinical education of practicing nurses, including certification, comorbidity knowledge, and clinical standards, after they have completed onboarding.

  • Own ongoing clinical education program delivery for the nursing team: Design, execute, and continuously improve Thyme Care’s clinical education programs for practicing nurses, including continuing education, evidence-based practice updates, skills development, and specialty training. This role focuses on post-onboarding clinical growth, not new hire ramp.

  • Build and operate an in-house Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preparation program: Design and own Thyme Care’s internal OCN certification pathway, including study materials, practice assessments, cohort programming, and exam preparation support. Track certification rates over time and continuously improve the program to increase pass rates and nurse participation.

  • Deliver ongoing education on oncology comorbidities: Develop and maintain a curriculum that equips nurses to recognize, understand, and respond to the comorbidities most common among Thyme Care’s member population. Ensure content stays current with evolving clinical evidence and is actionable at the point of care.

  • Host live and asynchronous training sessions: Plan, facilitate, and manage a regular cadence of live training events, including webinars, case-based learning sessions, and clinical skills workshops, alongside a library of self-paced async content. Ensure both modalities are well-attended, clinically rigorous, and consistently evaluated for effectiveness.

  • Act on quality audit findings routed through the closed-loop process: Receive training development priorities surfaced through the org-level quality-to-training process owned by the Senior Manager, QTE Operations, and translate them into targeted clinical education interventions for the nursing team. Track completion and report outcomes back to the process owner.

  • Audit existing clinical education content and recommend improvements: Conduct structured reviews of current nursing education programs, assessing clinical accuracy, coverage gaps, and delivery effectiveness. Bring prioritized, evidence-based recommendations to leadership for investment and action.

  • Design and develop scalable clinical learning content: Build nursing education materials across a range of formats, including e-learning modules, job aids, clinical reference tools, and facilitator guides, in partnership with subject matter experts across Clinical, Quality, and Operations.

  • Track clinical education OKRs and report on program health: Own the metrics that measure nursing education effectiveness, including completion rates, competency assessment outcomes, OCN certification rates, and quality improvement indicators. Report progress on a consistent cadence and use data to iterate.

  • Serve as the clinical subject matter resource for nursing education: Draw on your nursing background and oncology expertise to ensure all education content is clinically accurate, relevant to Thyme Care’s care model, and credible to the practicing nurses who use it.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

Active RN licensure with 5+ years of clinical experience, preferably in oncology, care management, or a similar complex, high-acuity setting. OCN certification is required. You bring firsthand clinical credibility to the content you build and the teams you support.

  • Experience building or supporting a certification preparation program: you have designed structured pathways that help clinicians prepare for and achieve professional certifications and know how to drive participation and sustain pass rates over time.

  • Deep familiarity with oncology comorbidities and clinical care: you are comfortable developing and teaching content on the conditions that commonly accompany cancer, and can translate complex clinical material into clear, actionable learning for working nurses and care coordinators.

  • Proven ability to facilitate live and async training: you have planned, hosted, and evaluated both live sessions (webinars, workshops, case reviews) and self-paced learning content, and know how to design for engagement and retention in both formats.

  • Experience designing and delivering clinical education programs: you have built training content for clinical teams in a hospital, health system, or health tech environment, and understand what makes learning stick for busy, practicing clinicians.

  • Strong program management skills: you scope and run multiple workstreams simultaneously, build realistic timelines, track dependencies, and deliver without needing to be managed. You hold yourself accountable to milestones and outcomes.

  • Comfort working from quality data to inform training: you have experience reviewing quality metrics, audit findings, or compliance data and translating what you find into targeted education interventions.

  • Self-directed and prioritization-driven: you create your own structure, manage competing demands without losing fidelity on any of them, and consistently identify the highest-leverage work in a fast-moving environment.

  • Clear, credible communicator: you write and present clinical and operational content in a way that lands with both frontline nurses and senior stakeholders, without overcomplicating or under-explaining.

  • Preferred: Familiarity with CE/CME accreditation processes.

  • Preferred: Exposure to quality improvement methodologies and how they connect to clinical education strategy.

WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

Act with our members in mind. You understand that the quality of nursing clinical education directly shapes the experience of people with cancer. You bring that accountability to every program you build and every session you facilitate.

Move with purpose. You are biased to action. You identify what your programs need, prioritize without being prompted, and do what it takes to ensure that urgent and important work moves forward without delay.

Clinical expertise you can build on. Your nursing background and OCN credential are not just qualifications. They are the foundation for the clinical credibility, content judgment, and frontline empathy that make your education programs relevant and trusted by the nurses who use them.

Rigorous prioritization and multitasking. You manage a portfolio of concurrent programs without losing fidelity on any of them. You distinguish high-leverage work from noise, protect time for what moves the needle, and stay organized across competing demands.

Comfortable with ambiguity. You have thrived in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and the path forward is not always clear. You create your own structure and move confidently even when the playbook is still being written.

Self-motivated and self-directed. You do not wait to be asked. You identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive toward outcomes independently. You hold yourself accountable to results, not just effort.
