We are looking for a product designer who thinks like a product leader.

Job Description

This is not primarily a visual redesign role. We do not need someone whose main contribution will be changing colors, refreshing components, or making already-polished screens look better.

We need someone who can identify where the product is slow, confusing, or ineffective, determine why, and redesign the experience around measurable product and business outcomes.

You will work directly with our founders, engineers, operators, and agents to decide what should be built, not simply how it should look.

What you’ll own

  • Identify the highest-impact product problems across our member app, agent tools, admin systems, and operational workflows.
  • Analyze product usage, funnels, event data, support conversations, agent feedback, and member behavior to understand where users struggle.
  • Turn ambiguous business problems into clear product hypotheses, user flows, and measurable success criteria.
  • Simplify complex workflows and reduce the time, effort, and number of steps required to complete important actions.
  • Decide when a problem requires a product change, an operational change, better communication, or no new feature at all.
  • Challenge existing assumptions and help the team prioritize the problems that matter most.
  • Design end-to-end experiences across iOS, Android, and web, including edge cases, exceptions, empty states, and operational handoffs.
  • Work closely with engineering to scope improvements that can ship incrementally and produce value quickly.
  • Define the analytics and instrumentation needed to evaluate whether a design actually worked.
  • Review shipped experiences and continue iterating based on real-world results.
  • Maintain a high bar for interaction and visual design without treating visual polish as a substitute for product quality.

What we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates product thinking, not just polished final screens.
  • Examples of product decisions that produced measurable improvements in conversion, completion rates, retention, engagement, speed, efficiency, or another meaningful outcome.
  • Excellent product and business judgment.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with funnels, behavioral data, qualitative feedback, and imperfect information.
  • The ability to explain what evidence informed a design decision, what alternatives were considered, and why a particular direction was chosen.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to understand how member experiences, internal tools, operations, and business constraints affect one another.
  • Experience simplifying complex workflows without removing necessary functionality.
  • Comfort working directly with founders and senior engineers in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills across mobile and web.
  • Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing marketplaces, concierge products, travel products, fintech products, or other high-touch services.
  • Experience with multi-sided products that include both customer-facing and internal operational tools.
  • Experience designing AI-assisted workflows, human-in-the-loop systems, or conversational products.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms, experimentation, basic SQL, or product instrumentation.
  • Experience working with small, highly engaged, and demanding customer populations.
  • Experience at an early-stage startup where design responsibilities extended into product management and strategy.

What success looks like

During your first few months, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our members, agents, business model, and operational workflows.
  • Map our most important product journeys and identify gaps in our current analytics.
  • Identify and prioritize the product areas creating the most friction or operational cost.
  • Ship meaningful improvements to at least one core flow.
  • Establish clear success metrics and evaluate whether the changes worked.
  • Create a repeatable process for combining product data, member feedback, agent feedback, and business priorities into design decisions.

Benefits

  • Remote full-time position (HQ based in Los Angeles)
  • Competitive salary + equity and bonuses
  • Medical insurance covered at 80% for employees
  • Unlimited vacation
  • 401(k) plan
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup environment with two-time founders and experienced executives
  • Significant ownership over Myria’s product strategy and design direction

Interview Process

Interview process

Our interview process is designed to evaluate product judgment, analytical thinking, collaboration, and design execution.

Introductory call

Duration: 20 minutes

We will introduce Myria, learn about your background, and discuss what you are looking for in your next role.

We are looking for candidates who are excited about working with a small team, taking substantial ownership, and solving product problems that do not have obvious answers.

Product and portfolio review

Duration: 45 minutes

You will walk us through one or two projects where you personally influenced the product direction.

We will focus on:

  • How you identified the problem
  • What evidence you used
  • What alternatives you considered
  • How business and technical constraints influenced the design
  • What you personally owned
  • What happened after the product shipped
  • How you measured the result

We are less interested in a polished portfolio presentation than in the quality of your decisions.

Collaborative product working session

Duration: 60 minutes

We will give you an anonymized product flow, a small amount of usage data, and several pieces of user or operational feedback.

You will work through the problem with members of our product and engineering team.

You may use Figma, paper, notes, AI tools, or any other resources you normally use. You will not be evaluated on producing a polished final mockup during the session.

We want to understand:

  • Which questions you ask first
  • How you interpret incomplete or conflicting evidence
  • How you identify the underlying problem
  • How you prioritize possible improvements
  • How you balance user needs, business needs, and engineering constraints
  • What you would ship first
  • How you would measure whether the change worked

Final call with the CEO

Duration: 30 minutes

The final conversation will focus on Myria’s vision, your career goals, and how you approach product ownership, collaboration, and decision-making.

The entire process generally takes two to three weeks, although we can move faster for candidates with competing offers or time-sensitive circumstances.

About Myria

Myria is a private community and concierge for off-market goods & services — the things you can't Google. Ultra-high net worth individuals spend $390 billion per year ($1.3 million each) on lifestyle, but they still struggle to find everything they want. Why? Because the best of any category — homes, boats, restaurant reservations — the best stuff is never listed online. Likewise, the best people don’t need the internet to find a new client or job. The best is always off-market. Myria is the Off-Marketplace. Myria helps off-market sellers reach the nicest and wealthiest buyers. In turn, we help the world’s most successful people access the best of everything, give back, and get the most out of life. If it’s off-market, it’s on Myria!
