Central Intelligence Agency

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is a civilian foreign intelligence service of the U.S. federal government, established by the National Security Act of 1947. It collects, analyzes, and disseminates foreign intelligence to support national security decision-making, conducts covert action under presidential direction, and provides counterintelligence to protect U.S. interests abroad.
