About the Role
The Design Advocate is a senior, highly cross-functional role for an experienced architect who deeply understands how AEC firms actually operate. From project delivery and coordination to content standards and BIM workflows.
This person sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, serving as Pirros’ in-house practitioner voice and strategic bridge between Product and GTM teams. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Design Advocate ensures that product innovation translates into customer value, sales enablement, and market credibility.
Today, one of Pirros’ biggest opportunities is improving the flow of information between R&D and GTM. Features ship without enough visibility, launches happen without polished enablement, and teams sometimes learn about changes too late. The Design Advocate is the structural fix and is embedded close enough to Product to understand what’s coming, while proactively ensuring Sales, Marketing, and CS are fully prepared before launches happen. This is not a traditional Product role or Marketing role. It is a senior individual contributor position focused on making Product, GTM, and customer-facing teams more aligned, informed, and effective.
What You’ll Own
Product Partnership & Customer Advocacy
-
Embed in product discovery and roadmap conversations as Pirros’ in-house AEC practitioner. Pressure-test ideas against real-world workflows, identify adoption risks early, and advocate for what customers actually need
-
Maintain visibility into upcoming launches and roadmap changes well ahead of broader GTM rollout
-
Feed customer and field insights directly back into Product discovery. Surface what’s resonating, where users are struggling, and what competitive pressure is emerging
GTM Enablement & Launch Readiness
-
Translate product updates and launches into actionable GTM enablement materials
-
Own pre-launch readiness checkpoints to ensure no major feature ships without appropriate positioning, enablement, communication, and internal preparedness
-
Serve as the technical and practitioner counterpart to Marketing by validating technical accuracy and strengthening messaging credibility
Sales & Customer Support
-
Act as a technical resource for Sales. supporting strategic customer conversations, participating in complex demos, and bringing senior architect credibility when needed
-
Partner with Customer Success to help field advanced workflow and product questions while routing valuable customer feedback back into Product and Engineering
-
Equip GTM teams proactively with the context and workflow expertise they need before issues arise in active deals
Industry Leadership & Market Intelligence
-
Represent Pirros externally as a practitioner voice through industry events, webinars, podcasts, AIA/Autodesk University participation, and customer roundtables
-
Deliver AIA-accredited continuing education programs as a high-trust GTM and brand-building channel (assuming licensure requirements are met)
-
Maintain and disseminate Pirros’ perspective on the evolving AEC landscape
Who You Are
-
Practiced architecture at a respected firm and understand what it feels like to deliver projects under real deadlines
-
Deep familiarity with Revit workflows, content standards, BIM coordination, and detail management challenges
-
Strong understanding of how architecture firms operate both operationally and commercially, including project delivery, profitability, staffing, scheduling, and interdisciplinary coordination
-
Exceptional communicator and equally comfortable building a demo, leading a webinar, writing a battlecard, or presenting to executives
-
Naturally proactive in sharing context and communicating without waiting to be asked
-
Highly collaborative and comfortable working across Product, Sales, Marketing, and CS without stepping on ownership boundaries
-
Thrive in ambiguity and excited to help build the bridge process while actively serving as the bridge
-
Able to hold your own with senior engineers, PMs, architects, executives, and enterprise customers alike
Nice to Have
-
AIA license
-
Experience managing BIM standards, content standards, or detail libraries at a mid-to-large architecture firm
-
Existing industry presence through speaking engagements, AU/AIA participation, podcasts, or thought leadership
-
Prior experience working closely with a software company (advisor, beta customer, customer council, or in-house)
-
Sales enablement tools, CRM systems, demo environments, or analytics tools

About Pirros
Engineers and Architects end up redesigning hundreds of details a year just because they are unable to search through all their past details. Pirros allows them to effectively manage and search all their past project details so that they can find reasonable starting points rather than starting from scratch.
