Head of Marketing
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Reports to: CEO, ChartHop
Compensation: Base: $200k-240k + Bonus: $25k-$50k
The Opportunity
ChartHop is looking for a Head of Marketing to lead our marketing team. This person will report directly to the CEO, you will be the architect of our go-to-market execution, bridging the gap between high-level brand awareness and rigorous, data-driven demand generation.
About You:
Builder: You enjoy 0-1, and 1-2. The team has a solid foundation but we’re looking for someone to elevate our existing marketing team, strategy and impact. You don’t have to have built a team from scratch, but you need to have seen the movie and understand what it’s like.
Innovator: comfortable with taking calculated risks and experimenting with our marketing strategy to drive successful leads and revenue
Background: You’re a leader with a demand generation focus and expertise in your career. This is most foundational to the success of the team at this stage.
Industry Experience: you’ve worked at a B2B SaaS company previously, with preference for companies in the Human Resources technology, secondary would be Data Analytics, and AI spaces.
Early-stage: you’re comfortable with and have been at pre-Series C companies where pace is fast, growth is key, and learnings are critical to success.
AI-Forward: you’re AI-curious and understand how AI has substantially changed the marketing landscape and how we can leverage it
Data-driven: You have data fluency and understand how to review it to make more precise decisions that focus on results.

Key Responsibilities
Demand Generation & Pipeline Ownership
Full-Funnel Strategy: Own the strategy and execution of multi-channel programs designed to drive high-quality qualified pipeline.
Performance Marketing: Oversee paid acquisition (search, social, display) in collaboration with external performance agencies, ensuring optimal CAC and high-intent lead flow.
Brand Awareness & Content Ecosystem
SEO/AEO Strategy: Move beyond traditional search; lead our strategy for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) to ensure ChartHop is the definitive answer in AI-driven search environments.
Influencer & Analyst Relations: Cultivate relationships with key HR tech influencers and industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, etc.) to solidify ChartHop’s position as a category leader.
Public Relations Support: Manage external PR resources to drive earned media and thought leadership.
Team Leadership & Operations
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team.
Vendor Orchestration: Manage a roster of specialized agencies and freelancers, ensuring high-quality output and accountability.
Marketing Ops & Analytics: Oversee the marketing tech stack (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) to ensure flawless lead routing, attribution, and reporting. You will provide the CEO with clear, data-backed insights on marketing ROI.
AI-Native Marketing
Champion the use of Generative AI tools to accelerate content production, audience segmentation, and experiment iteration.
What Success Looks Like in Year One:
0–90 days: Deeply understand our customers, our product, our pipeline, and our current marketing motion. Audit what's working, what isn't, and where the biggest leverage points are.
90–180 days: Launch a refreshed demand generation engine with clear attribution, tightened CAC targets, and a content and AEO strategy that positions ChartHop as the definitive voice in AI-native HR.
180–365 days: Own a meaningful portion of qualified pipeline, have analyst and influencer relationships actively generating awareness, and have ChartHop's AI story landing consistently in the market. The team is energized, focused, and performing.
We are evaluating candidates at the Director/Senior Director levels and will align compensation relative to experience/seniority.
