Summary

The Director, Cyber Resilience Testing and Exercise Planner, plays a critical role in enhancing the organization's cyber resilience capabilities within the IT Security department. This position is based in London and reports directly to Erin Tharp, Director for Cyber Resilience. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Financial Services, Banking, or Financial Market Infrastructure firms, and will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of cyber resilience testing and exercises. This role requires strategic leadership to ensure that the organization is prepared to respond effectively to cyber incidents.

As a senior leader, you will develop and implement comprehensive resilience testing strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in cybersecurity posture. You will be tasked with designing and coordinating complex cyber exercises that simulate real-world attack scenarios, allowing the organization to test and refine its response capabilities. Your insights will be pivotal in identifying vulnerabilities and recommending enhancements to existing cyber resilience measures.

Your expertise will also be crucial in advising senior management on cyber resilience issues and helping to shape the organization's strategic direction in this area. You will work on fostering a culture of continuous improvement and resilience awareness across the organization, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and engaged in preserving the integrity and security of the company's digital assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of cyber resilience testing and exercises, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cyber resilience testing strategy, tailored to organizational needs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to design realistic and impactful cyber exercise scenarios.
  • Analyze results from exercises to identify vulnerabilities and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Advise senior management on cyber resilience strategies and potential risks.
  • Establish metrics and benchmarks to measure the effectiveness of resilience initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to enhance resilience capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of resilience awareness across the organization through training and communication.
  • Stay informed on emerging cyber threats and trends to continuously improve testing methodologies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership.
  • Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, promoting professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cyber resilience planning and testing, preferably within Financial Services or Banking.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with crisis management and incident response planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in cybersecurity or related fields is preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and management practices.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the financial sector related to cybersecurity.
