Physics | Data Engineering internship: defectivity data pipelines and dashboards
Job Description
Introduction
In the Machine Conditioning department, the defectivity group works on improving key performance indicators of state of the art lithography machines. Data analysis and data visualization are key aspects of understanding the behavior of lithography scanners, which will ultimately improve performance indicators.
Your Assignment
As an intern you will be working in the Reticle Defectivity team on the NXE:3800 and EXE:5X00 related issues. Defectivity is key for Cost of Technology in EUV Lithography, as every single particle on a reticle or wafer can damage one or multiple dies. In relation to issue resolution of defectivity, you are expected to be working on defectivity dashboard/pipeline activities that requires both Physics and Data Engineering knowledge. Some of your main responsibilities will include:
Scope all available data, create data pipelines, apply statistical methods to process data, and visualize relevant information through dashboards;
Contribute towards data visualization that will be used by engineers and managers across the globe;
Gain hands-on experience in creating data pipelines, data analysis and data visualization;
Work in a fast paced environment, and gain insight on how performance issues are handled in one of the complex machines ever built.
This is a Bachelor/Master internship for 6-12 months, 4-5 days per week (onsite). This internship is not suitable for a thesis. The start date is as soon as possible or the latest September 2026.
Your Profile
To be suitable for this internship, you:
Are doing a Bachelor's or Master's in Physics/Engineering and you have a strong interest in Data Science;
Have experience with Python and SQL;
Preferably have some experience with C++ and MATLAB;
Preferably have some experience working with statistics;
Possess great communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
