As the subject matter expert in a continuous improvement environment, the Principal, Talent Management Programs is responsible for designing, implementing and owning the company’s talent management and performance system architecture, a structured succession planning framework and the annual talent review process including Workday enablement and enterprise-wide adoption. It is an individual contributor role and requires enterprise influence and system ownership.
The position reports to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition and Performance Management and is part of People based in Denver, CO. This role is Remote and may require travel to various locations such as Folsom and Long Beach CA, Denver and Pueblo CO, and Huntsville AL.
In this role, the essential functions are:
- Design, implement, and manage annual and semi-annual performance review cycles end-to-end, including goal setting, mid-year check-ins, and year-end evaluations.
- Configure and administer performance review workflows, templates, and rating scales within the Workday Talent & Performance module.
- Build and implement a structured succession planning framework that identifies critical roles, assesses bench strength, and develops readiness pipelines across all levels of the organization.
- Lead annual talent review processes using 9-box methodology, including preparation materials, facilitation guides, and post-review action planning.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on talent management best practices, industry benchmarks, and emerging trends in performance and succession methodologies.
- Leverage Workday reporting and dashboards to deliver actionable talent analytics that inform workforce planning, retention strategies, and organizational development decisions.
- Develop and maintain competency frameworks and career pathing resources that support employee development and internal mobility.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to integrate talent management processes into broader People strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field with 15 or more years of progressive experience in talent management, succession planning, organizational development, and learning & development with a focus on performance management and succession planning.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and implementing enterprise-wide annual and semi-annual performance review processes from the ground up.
- Hands-on experience configuring and administering Workday Talent & Performance modules, including performance reviews, talent reviews, calibration, and succession planning.
- Proven ability to facilitate talent calibration and 9-box talent review sessions with senior leaders.
- Strong knowledge of talent assessment methodologies, competency frameworks, and leadership development best practices.
- Experience driving change management in a high-growth organization undergoing significant scaling or transformation while building successful processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the defense, national security, space, or government contracting industry.
Travel, Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:
- Travel up to 50%, including the possibility of overnights within the U.S.
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The good faith base salary range for this role is $140,000-$180,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
