Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator, Structures reporting to the Production Manager, Structures & Mechanical Assembly, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, track, and move parts as required through the manufacturing shop floor to ensure timely delivery through completion.
- Ensure parts are handled in the proper manner to avoid any damages.
- Coordinate with purchasing and logistics to ensure parts are moved to outsourcing locations.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning and procurement teams to ensure that shortages are flagged ahead of time and delivered by the shop floor need date.
- Work closely with manufacturing management to ensure metric goals are met.
- Communicate part status and completion dates to customer.
- Assist leadership with projects and action items as needed.
- Utilize bandsaw to supply raw materials to Machine Shop.
- Support manufacturing shop floor with returns to inventory.
- Follow up with engineering on open issues blocking RUN completion.
- Assist in correcting wrong system data which is driving incorrect MRP signals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 2+ Years of handling parts in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Inventory experience.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
- Must be willing to work overtime and or weekends as needed.
Pay Range:
- Manufacturing Coordinator I: $19.32 - $27.42
- Manufacturing Coordinator II: $22.17 - $31.47
- Senior Manufacturing Coordinator: $28.71 - $40.75
