Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, to support Haven-1 Manufacturing within the Integration team and the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This role is responsible for coordinating, ensuring material delivery meets with schedule timelines. You’ll be working cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams to maintain production flow and resolve any blockers proactively. As the coordinator for the Avionics Lab, this individual will be responsible for working with the Avionics Manufacturing leadership team to ensure that all deadlines are met.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Shift hours:
- First Shift: 6:00 amPST - 2:30 pmPST
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor the flow of avionics hardware through harness, electromechanical, and battery assembly operations to ensure schedules and build priorities are maintained.
- Work with manufacturing technicians, engineers, and supply chain teams to ensure materials, components, and tooling are staged and ready for upcoming builds.
- Track work order status and hardware readiness including components, harnesses, and documentation required to support avionics assembly activities.
- Identify and escalate issues impacting production schedules such as material shortages, tooling availability, quality holds, or documentation gaps.
- Maintain accurate status of builds and assembly activities within internal tracking tools and work order systems.
- Ensure proper handling, careful packaging, and documentation of completed avionics hardware for downstream handoffs and storage.
- Support coordination between avionics assembly operations and downstream activities to ensure seamless hardware transitions.
- Generate and maintain reports that provide visibility into build status, upcoming assembly activities, and potential schedule risks.
- Collaborate with the Master Scheduler, engineers, and manufacturing leadership to align production priorities and capacity.
- Facilitate communication between engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and maintain schedule adherence.
- Assist with material staging, hardware kitting, and documentation required for avionics assembly activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- 2+ years of Smartsheet.
- Highly detail oriented and self starter.
- Forklift experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
Pay Range:
- Manufacturing Coordinator I: $18.00 - $25.00
- Manufacturing Coordinator II: $22.00 - $31.00
