Vantor is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and deployment of advanced intelligence capabilities in a classified environment. You will be part of a project team responsible for designing and maintaining system architectures that integrate various components into a larger operational infrastructure. Deployment will span multiple networks, utilizing hybrid architectures consisting of both local and cloud infrastructures.

We monitor global change, deliver broadband communications, and advance space operations with capabilities in Space Infrastructure and Earth Intelligence.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist in system architecture design and integration across both cloud and local environments.

  • Contribute to technical and user documentation, ensuring content is accurate and user-friendly.

  • Collaborate with other engineers (software, hardware, algorithm, infrastructure, network, test, and DevOps) to ensure proper system integration and performance.

  • Troubleshoot system outages and communicate with the operational team and customer representatives to assist in addressing issues promptly.

  • Support system deployment in hybrid architectures, ensuring smooth transitions from test to operational environments.

  • Ability to help improve, refine and establish processes through cross functional teams to streamline communication, configuration management, documentation and deliveries.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (4 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree).

  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, modeling and simulation, or related fields.

  • Must be willing to work in the office 5 days a week in Herndon, VA.

  • Experience in developing technical and user documentation.

  • Experience in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and maintenance, particularly in Microsoft Project.

  • Experience in technical proposal writing.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and working within cross-functional teams; Release Train Engineer or Product Owner certifications preferred.

  • Exposure to defense and intelligence systems, with domain-specific knowledge.

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructures, hybrid environments, and system optimization techniques.

  • Experience with manual and automated testing and Internal Validation and Verification (IV&V).

  • Experience with Enterprise-level systems engineering processes and reviews, such as Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and others.

  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms and their implementation into existing production workflows.

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Pay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

 

● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $161,000.00 - $269,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
