The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Engineering Flight in the Civil Engineer Squadron. The Engineering Flight is responsible for providing project planning, program development, design, energy management, project management, contract execution, and technical support.

Duties
1. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
2. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Engineering Flight.
3. Represents the Engineering Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
4. Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for the Engineering Flight activities to ensure services and functions are in line with the organizational goals and mission requirements.

- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license may be required.
- Selective Placement Factor: A current professional registration or license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in one of the 50 states or territories is required for this position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Security Clearance.
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the
- Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
- This is a Financial Management Level (1, 2, or 3) Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81,
- Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, General Engineering Series, 0801, Professional Scientific Positions.
