YOUR MISSION
We are revolutionizing spacecraft systems and are looking for candidates with a passion for being hands-on and helping build new technologies. Our production engineers do what it takes to ensure production can keep building. You will gain experience at every phase of the spacecraft program including design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and flight. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the initial setup and scaling of a new spacecraft manufacturing facility .
- Generate work instructions for multiple subsystem types for spacecraft, ground support equipment, and tooling including mechanical, electrical, and fluids.
- Support production operations to help drive workflow, project bottlenecks, plan contingencies, and unblock issues.
- Generate non-compliance reports and issues, support investigation through resolution, and own the execution of dispositions.
- Manage calibration and certification of mechanical and electrical ground support equipment.
- Provide technical manufacturing engineering assistance to production and test teams.
- Complete process improvements and corrective actions to increase efficiency of production.
- Provide manufacturing expertise to design engineering and contribute to documentation including drawings, processes, and specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
- Years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering for aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems in line with engineering level.
- Experience with PLM, MES, configuration and data management controls and systems.
- Experience working to AS9100 process and standards.
- Experience with working hands-on-hardware and fabrication methods
- Experience building and producing classified hardware in SCIF’s or SAP facilities.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience manufacturing component level, subsystem level, and vehicle level space systems
- Experience in spacecraft integration.
- Experience in spacecraft hardware, system, and environmental test.
COMPENSATION
Base Salary:
- Production Engineer 1: $70,000-$90,000
- Production Engineer 2: $95,000-$110,000
- Senior Production Engineer: $115,000-$165,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Clearance — Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Work Location — this a fully onsite position based out of our Long Beach, CA office.
- Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
- Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
