Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, you will help bring cutting-edge avionics hardware from early development through flight readiness and production ramp.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Avionics Assembly: Build, install, and test avionics hardware including flight computers, sensors, RF components, power distribution units, and harnesses using engineering drawings, work instructions, and process documentation. This includes crimping, soldering, connector backshell assembly, and cable routing to meet fit, form, and workmanship standards.
  • Harness Fabrication and Installation: Fabricate, inspect, and install wire harnesses and cable assemblies at required quality and standards, ensuring proper routing, strain relief, shielding, and continuity.
  • System Integration: Work alongside engineering and quality teams to integrate avionics components and subsystems into spacecraft structures, supporting checkouts, functional tests, and troubleshooting to root cause.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct and support avionics testing including continuity, hi-pot, RF link, functional, and environmental testing. Operate GSE and automated test equipment to verify system performance.
  • PCB Assembly and Repair: Assemble, inspect, and rework printed circuit board assemblies to required quality and standards, including component placement, soldering, and conformal coating. Perform board-level troubleshooting and repair to support hardware turnaround and production flow.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical degree or certification in avionics, electronics, or a relevant field
  • Years of experience in assembly, integration, and test of aerospace avionics systems in line with technician level
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions
  • Experience with ESD-sensitive, FOD-critical, and cleanroom operations
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 25lbs and work in and around constrained and confined spaces

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
  • Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle avionics integration
  • Familiarity with automated test equipment and GSE operation
