We are looking for a Part-Time Technical Project Management Engineer (Senior Project Engineer – Technical Project Management). This position, as part of CSG NASA Programs Division, will support the Aerospace Program Office at NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The Aerospace Corporation seeks a highly experienced technical project management engineer to support the Moon Base transportation office under the NSEETS contract vehicle. This part time position will provide critical expertise in systems engineering, program development and architecture definition, process development and definition, requirements definition and management, and integration with stakeholders across the Program. 


This is a part-time position based in Merritt Island, Fl offering a work model that combines regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as business needs allow.   


What You’ll Be Doing  

  • Develop, analyze, and manage technical requirements from system level through subsystem implementation, ensuring traceability and alignment with mission objectives throughout the project lifecycle
  • Plan, facilitate, and participate in formal lifecycle reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.), serving as technical authority to ensure project readiness for phase transitions
  • Tailor NPR 7120.5 project planning requirements to specific project needs and ensure ongoing compliance with NASA standards and procedural requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, and management of configuration management processes to maintain technical baseline integrity and control
  • Support the development and execution of risk management activities, including risk identification, analysis, mitigation strategy development, and tracking
  • Support systems engineering and integration activities across multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive system functionality and performance
  • Create systems engineering products in accordance with NPR 7123.1B requirements, including technical plans, specifications, verification documentation, and technical reports
  • Develop, maintain, and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and interface requirements to ensure seamless integration across system boundaries and with external stakeholders
  • Operate strategically by aligning technical decisions with long-term program goals and organizational objectives
  • Engage with impact across multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and leadership to drive technical excellence
  • Foster innovation by developing and implementing creative solutions to complex engineering challenges

What You Need to be Successful- Senior Project Engineer – Technical Project Management

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related STEM discipline  
  • 10(+) years of experience in NASA Projects and Programs  
  • At least 10(+) years of experience increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in Systems Engineering and Integration 
  • Ability to effectively use oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
  • Proven experience working effectively and quickly in real-time environments of rapid change, conflicting requirements, and occasional pressure
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
  • Senior level understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Knowledge and experience on performance evaluation and organizational change principles
  • Willing to travel [occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically/internationally] approx. 10%. 
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance 

How You Can Stand Out 

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or other engineering discipline  
  • 5-10 years of experience in standing up new government projects and programs 
  • Demonstrated success leading or executing technical and programmatic tasks for NASA missions  
  • Extensive project management expertise, including PMP certification or equivalent credentials
