Aerospace is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to support M&S and DE Integration activities for Aerospace and its customers. This role will provide leadership and advice to a range of Aerospace and government customers seeking assistance with digital transformation integration efforts, especially technically demanding activities related to the integration of digital engineering (DE) ecosystems, data, M&S, and AI across diverse enterprises. You will lead efforts to define DE & M&S interface standards, drive interoperability across platforms, and ensure data and software quality, security, and compliance at scale. Inherent in this job will be opportunities to significantly influence the future of digital capabilities for both the government and the Aerospace Corporation.
This is a full-time position that require 100% onsite work in Chantilly, VA, Colorado Springs, CO or El Segundo, CA;
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop and execute digital integration strategy(-ies) in support of Aerospace and government customers. Work with stakeholders to create digital integration strategies and generate plans/roadmaps to realize those strategies
Architect solutions. Consistent with the strategies and roadmaps, partner with architecture teams to produce various levels (e.g., functional, logical, solution) and types (e.g., operational, enterprise, ecosystem/environment, application) of architecture to inform implementation. Implementation approaches will need to account for user needs variety of (e.g., requirements, use cases) and tradespace constraints such as applicable policies, and available resources.
Support the Transition. Monitor, assess, and guide the transition from legacy capabilities to desired solutions and integrated capabilities, to include supporting relevant aspects of the acquisition process. Routinely engage with customer stakeholders to communicate the objectives, the status, and needs.
Establish governance. Coordinate with stakeholders to implement executable processes and clear lines of authority/responsibility to continually manage the development and deployment of integrated capabilities. Prioritize feature development and balance customer requirements with technical feasibility.
Provide integrated perspective. Provide expertise that incorporates the needs of Aerospace and the range of stakeholders to ensure that advice and solutions reflect consistent, balanced, and integrated strategies based on what is best for the entire space enterprise. aligning cross functional teams around goals and timelines.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other technical discipline
10 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering roles, especially related to DE and M&S.
Familiarity with digital engineering, Modeling and Simulation, and integration concepts and technologies, especially as practiced and deployed in the DoD in support of acquisition lifecycle supporting mission systems
Knowledge of—and experience with—DE and M&S ecosystems as well as cloud technologies and services, data management technologies and services, AI technologies and services, Modeling Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) applications, and associated workforce and cultural aspects.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and mission focused stakeholders across multiple constituencies.
Experience leading the design, development, representation, and/or implementation and integration of large-scale digital architectures
Position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Advanced degree in STEM or other technical discipline
12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering roles, especially related to DE.
Experience creating a government reference architecture
Demonstrated success leading large-scale digital integration projects
Experience with various DoD acquisition processes, such as acquisition strategies, contracting strategies, requests for proposal, work breakdown structures, cost estimating, and requirements management
Direct experience with cloud, data, AI service providers and/or platforms
Direct experience with DoD, NNSA, or civil space missions and capabilities
Effective communication skills, to include the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely to various types of stakeholders
Knowledge / experience with specific DOD, NNSA, or civil space digital environments
Knowledge / experience of systems-of-systems (SoS) engineering and architecting and model-based system engineering (MBSE)
Familiarity with AI technologies and practices
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and mission focused stakeholders across multiple constituencies.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability
Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration across multi-organizational teams
Current DoD TS and SSBI/SCI Clearance

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
