Job Summary
The Supply Chain department manages all aspects of procurement for The Aerospace Corporation. As a Buyer Staff II – Indirect Goods and Services, this is an entry-level position ideal for recent college graduates looking to launch a career in strategic sourcing and procurement. You will support category management, supplier engagement, and procurement operations while gaining hands-on experience across the full procurement lifecycle.
You will work alongside experienced procurement professionals to drive operational efficiency, manage costs, and support compliance with corporate and government procurement requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support sourcing and procurement activities for indirect goods and services, learning to drive competitive value and supplier performance across the enterprise
- Assist in evaluating sourcing activities by analyzing supplier performance, market conditions, and cost structures to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
- Help conduct formal market analysis to assess market trends, behaviors, and cost drivers that support sourcing strategy development
- Learn to develop negotiation strategies, contract structures, and pricing models under the guidance of senior buyers
- Assist with sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), support supplier selection processes, and participate in negotiations aligned with category strategies
- Help forecast and plan product and service demand for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Support implementation of tools and procedures to evaluate supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and deliverability
- Assist in managing supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across assigned categories
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Buyer Staff I – Indirect Goods and Services include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
- 0-1 years experience
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); willingness to learn procurement and ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and supplier management fundamentals
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in data analysis and documentation
This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Coursework or internship experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or contract administration
- Familiarity with procurement or ERP systems such as SAP, Ariba, or similar platforms
- Exposure to or academic understanding of indirect spend categories such as IT, marketing services, facilities, HR services, or professional consulting
- Interest in or knowledge of the aerospace, defense, or government contracting industry
- Experience with data analysis tools or Excel-based reporting

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
