Telecom Technical Consultant Trainee (SIM/eUICC) - Fixed Term

At Thales we're looking for a curious, driven engineering graduate eager to learn how SIM and eUICC technologies work behind the scenes — and how international telecom standards shape the mobile ecosystem used by millions of people every day to join our team as an OEM eTC Trainee in Bogotá.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply global telecom standards (ETSI, 3GPP, GSMA, GP, TCA) that define SIM/eUICC requirements.
• Translate those standards into technical specs using Thales proprietary tools.
• Support end-to-end BAP project lifecycles alongside senior technical consultants.
• Perform SIM/eUICC assessments, testing, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to training materials, prototypes, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with customers and teams across the Americas.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fluent Spanish + English (B2 minimum — you'll work with global teams).
• Basic knowledge of Java, C++, HTML, or XML.
• Some understanding of GSM and/or UMTS networks.
• Genuine curiosity about Smartcards, Embedded Software, or Telecom.

No prior professional experience required. We're looking for motivation, a learning mindset, and someone who gets excited about how technology actually works.

Position Requirements

• Colombian citizenship or valid work authorization.
• Hybrid work model (3x2), based in Bogotá.
