Position Summary


Thales has a vacancy for a Technical Material Expeditor to be casual/on call to execute systems-based material transactions in support of special initiatives or projects.  


Regulatory Compliance Requirement

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access.


Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Provide support to Supply Chain team related to material transaction;
  • May provide material support for Coastal Operations Staff;
  • May raise requisitions for material and equipment required to support maintenance activities;
  • Participate in root-cause investigations for material, as required;
  • Conduct DRMIS MM (Material Management) or PM (Planned Maintenance) or SAP transactions;
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working within the Military, or on a Defence contract or project;
  • Excellent communication and people skills; adept at interfacing between multiple internal/external stakeholders;
  • Strong computer literacy and proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel;
  • Previous experience working with SAP, MAXIMO or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system;
  • Experience with the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) an asset;
  • Strong clerical skills, with high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work autonomously;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities;
  • Experience working in procurement, finance, project management or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments;
  • Open minded and able to listen; share ideas while bringing added value / capturing innovation.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Defense Industry experience an asset;
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning methods and implementation.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Casual on-call, less than 16 hours per week
  • Physical Environment: Hybrid position, a mix of working from home and on-site (in office, at customer sites, or onboard ships alongside in harbour)

Pay Transparency
 

The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is $50,000 to 80,000 CAD Annual​. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
