Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Technical Lead/Sr. Technical Lead role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role he/she will be responsible for safety critical product development, cost effective, customized sub-systems design to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (DO-160, DO-254, MIL-STD, etc.).
Qualifications:
M.Tech/B.Tech in Electrical engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
Strong skills in Discrete Power supply design for Power Electronic boards, Strong fundamentals in Power Electronics.
Strong hands on experience in electronic simulation and design software (Cadence, Allegro, ANSYS, PSPICE / LTSPICE, Matlab etc.).
Experience with Single phase AC (115 V/230V) to DC converter design for DO-160 Requirement.
Experience with DC - DC converter converters topologies (buck, boost, Sepic, Flyback).
Experience in Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Analysis with understanding of grounding and shielding concepts, Chassis design.
Experience in design and development of Power Transformers and Inductors for Power Converters.
Experience with Power Input EMI Filter Design and verification techniques for DO 160/MIL STD/IEC61000.
Component Selection, Schematic Capture and providing design guidelines for PCB routing and verification of component placement and Gerber files.
Excellent knowledge of regulation loops, stability, rejection, efficiency, etc…
Experience with Protection Circuits like Over Voltage, Over Current, Temperature Monitoring, Lightning Protection, In-rush Protection, Reverse Polarity.
Should have hands-on experience in requirement-based test procedure and test report development.
Good to have hands on experience in design robustness analysis (Worst Case analysis, Failure Mode and effect analysis, Part stress analysis);
Good to have a hands-on experience in Power Integrity Simulation (Preferred tool is Cadence Sigrity)
Should have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams (For effective design for power supply, understanding Load requirements, PCB layout team, Mechanical team, and suppliers)
Should have general understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles including design, development, testing, verification and validation phases
Good to have knowledge of different Communication Protocols (Example: SPI, I2S, SGMII, Ethernet Interface, ARINC 429, RS 485/232/422) knowledge
Prior experience in commercial/military airborne product is preferable.
