Technical Lead

Job description:

  • The Thales Research and Technology team is looking for dynamic individuals with
  • preferably a PhD / Postdoc to carry out extensive experiments on photonics as a
  • computing platform.
  • Essential Specifications:
  • Masters / PhD in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science, or a related
  • field with at least 10 years of experience on analog electronics, circuit
  • design and optimization, characterization and testing
  • Experience in designing and developing on-chip photonic systems,
  • including waveguide-based modulators, couplers, photonic memory,
  • nanostructured electro-optic devices and filters for applications in optical
  • communication and computing
  • working knowledge of Ansys-Lumerical on photonic circuit simulations
  • and characterization

Responsibilities:

  • The role will center around
  • performing photonic circuit design and simulations on industry accepted
  • tools.
  • coordination of collaborative research projects with premier academic
  • institutions on the same domain and also in the assessment of low
  • technology developments on alternate electronic substrate design.
  • Publish experimental results with the community through whitepapers and
  • technical seminars
  • Network with Thales internal units and technology experts on the topics of
  • Si-Photonics design and optimization
