About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Security Engineer to join our Advanced Security Response Team. In this role, you will act as a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME), responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to complex security incidents while driving operational excellence.
You will work closely with customers, internal support teams, Threat Research, Product Development, and Services teams to enhance security operations, improve response processes, and strengthen customer confidence in Thales and Imperva security solutions.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership, mentoring, customer management, and process improvement capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Incident Management
Monitor and manage daily Security operations, ensuring timely handling escalations, and security incidents.
Take ownership of critical and high-priority customer escalations and provide effective resolution strategies.
Analyse web traffic, attack patterns, and anomalous activities across customer environments.
Assist with mitigation planning and policy optimization for Cloud WAF, Infrastructure Protection, ABP, ATO, and related security platforms.
Actively participate in customer calls to manage escalations and maintain customer confidence.
Technical Leadership & SME Responsibilities
Support cross-functional teams including TAM, Professional Services, Sales Engineers, and Threat Research teams.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex security incidents
Collaborate with Product Development teams to improve platform capabilities and operational workflows.
Participate in weekly technical reviews and escalation management meetings.
Training & Mentorship
Mentor and onboard new Security engineers through structured training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Conduct regular technical workshops and cross-team enablement sessions.
Audit and provide feedback on cases handled by junior engineers.
Maintain and improve internal training materials, documentation, and operational runbooks.
Enable internal stakeholders through product training, traffic profiling guidance, and policy tuning best practices.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify operational gaps and recommend process improvements, automations, and efficiency initiatives.
Drive projects that improve team productivity, operational scalability, and incident response effectiveness.
Contribute to transformation initiatives, automation frameworks, and tooling enhancements.
Maintain and update internal Knowledge Base documentation with relevant technical and operational information.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with strategic and high-priority customers within the assigned region.
Assist Services and Support teams during major incidents and escalations.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve customer security configurations and operational outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Minimum 4+ years of experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, SOC Engineering, or related cybersecurity roles.
Strong understanding of web application security, cloud security, and network security fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with web technologies and protocols including HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, DNS, TCP/IP, REST APIs, JSON, and JavaScript.
Experience analyzing security incidents, traffic behavior, and attack mitigation techniques.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage technical customer interactions.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with Imperva or similar Cloud Application Security/WAF platforms.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud security environments.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
Understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and web attack vectors.
Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Exposure to SIEM, SOAR, and security automation technologies.
Experience creating dashboards and analytical reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
