Job Title: SPM Special Process Expert – Aerospace & Defense Special Processes


Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated graduate Chemical Engineer to support special processes operations in the aerospace and defense sector. The role focuses on advanced material science applications, electrochemical treatments, and corrosion protection methods that are critical to maintaining the integrity, reliability, and performance of aerospace mechanical components and defense systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and optimization of special chemical processes at suppliers premises such as electroplating, anodization, passivation, and liquid spray painting on aerospace-grade materials (e.g., aluminum alloys, titanium, Iron & Iron alloys, Copper alloys & nickel-based superalloys).

  • Assist in evaluating and improving corrosion protection techniques in compliance with aerospace and defense industry standards (e.g., Thales, MIL-STD, AMS specifications).

  • Participate in material and process characterization and failure analysis related to corrosion, surface treatments, painting and coatings.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data to support process qualification and product validation.

  • Help to maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports of suppliers aligned with quality management systems (QMS) of Thales group.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process consistency and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist in developing presentations and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:-

  • Strong academic foundation in Chemical Engineering with emphasis on:

  • Material Science and Material Engineering

  • Electrochemical Engineering and corrosion protection methods

  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

  • Indepth understanding of special process requirements for Aerospace Industry.

  • 8-10 years’ experience in material science and corrosion mitigation strongly preferred.

  • Good analytical skills with the ability to work with data sets and present findings clearly.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough with adherence to safety and quality protocols.


Desirable / Advantageous:

  • Prior experience in aerospace or defense industry or any other industries, particularly in electrochemical surface treatment or corrosion labs.

  • Ability to design and deliver clear, professional presentations (PowerPoint or equivalent).

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and materials testing methods (e.g., volumetric chemical analysis, microscopy, spectroscopy).
