About your future job
As a Solution Architect for the SID squad, you will be part of the IS/IT Business Applications domain. You help drive the digitalisation, standardisation and modernisation of our organisation. Your focus lies on integrations, Industry 4.0 solutions and designing robust, scalable application architectures, including shapingigital solutions on leading low‑code platforms such as Mendix and ServiceNow.

You are a leading force within the team: a sparring partner who provides direction, makes decision. You actively bring the team along in architectural choices, create clarity and ensure everyone understands why certain solutions are chosen. You work full‑time on Solution Architecture and act as a key link between the business, IT and our enterprise architecture, ensuring strong alignment, communication and collaboration across squads and stakeholders.

The SID squad operates at the centre of our digital landscape, connecting business needs, IT capabilities and architectural direction to ensure coherence and shared understanding across the organisation.

Your contribution:

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their processes, challenges and needs

• Translate business questions into clear, future‑proof IS/IT solutions

• Design application, data and integration architectures using modelling techniques such as ArchiMate

• Drive Industry 4.0 initiatives by designing and implementing integrated solutions across smart mobility, IoT (including platforms such as Cumulocity), industrial networks and process automation, including the introduction of RPA (UiPath), ensuring these innovations strengthen and standardize our application landscape

• Collaborate with the Lead Engineers to shape the squad’s technical and architectural roadmap

• Collaborate with other architects and international Thales teams to exchange best practices and tooling

• Contribute to our ramp‑up by delivering solutions that help our users work more efficiently

Why you'd be a good match

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

• You have experience with:

  • API architecture and integration patterns

  • Application design and solutioning

  • Integration technologies such as SOAP, REST and Kafka

  • Basic networking and security concepts

  • Modelling (e.g. ArchiMate)

• You are a strong communicator and sparring partner for both business and IT

• You work transparently, predictably and take ownership

• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
