Position Summary


A Senior DevOps Engineer bridges development and operations to design, automate, and operate the cloud platform that powers our CipherTrust Data Security Platform Service. This role combines strong software engineering and operational skills to ensure reliable, scalable, and observable systems are delivered and maintained in production.


Essential Functions

  • Support the full application and infrastructure stack to ensure the CipherTrust Data Security Platform Service remains highly available, secure, performant, and reliable.
  • Design, implement, and maintain observability, monitoring, and synthetic testing to detect issues early and validate service behavior end-to-end.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely incident response through PagerDuty and related operational processes.
  • Lead or support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity and recovery readiness.
  • Define, track, and continuously improve SLOs/SLIs to align platform reliability with business expectations.
  • Produce clear and actionable monthly operations reports summarizing service health, trends, incidents, and improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage Datadog to analyze logs, create and maintain monitoring metrics, and configure dashboards and alerts that support CloudOps activities and platform reliability.
  • Analyze operational data and platform metrics to identify performance bottlenecks, reliability gaps, and opportunities for automation or optimization.
  • Design, build, and maintain automation and internal tooling to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the CloudOps environment.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain application and platform layers of the service, ensuring changes are implemented safely and in accordance with standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and other technical stakeholders to review designs, provide feedback, and help shape scalable and resilient solutions.
  • Review peer code and infrastructure changes to ensure quality, maintainability, and compliance with team standards and best practices.
  • Develop, test, and document automation and platform components, including runbooks and operational procedures, to support long-term maintainability and operational readiness.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or CloudOps, with 3+ years of building and operating cloud-native platforms
    • Development Application side Experience in deploying and supporting cloud-based applications.
    • Ability to think in a Cloud Services manner.
    • Experience with orchestration toolsets.
  • Operations
    • Understanding of operational concepts like change management, on call rotations, escalations, uptime, etc...
    • Experience in managing production systems on a very large scale.
    • Experience working with virtualization: VMWare, Hyper-V, etc...
    • Experience working with DB’s: MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, Cassandra, etc...
  • Software Development Experience with cloud and server architecture
    • Experience with REST APIs, microservices development and deployment.
    • Experience with security-relevant protocols
  • OS
    • Deep understanding of one of the major OS families (Linux or Windows)
  • Security
    • Conscious of security concerns
    • Adhere to security best practices from design to implementation and operations
  • Automation
    • Experience with automation technologies (Terraform, Cloud formation, Ansible)
    • Experience with CaaS or PaaS technologies (K8s, OpenShift, etc...)
    • Experience with IaaS technologies (OpenStack, Azure Stack, etc...)
  • Public and Private Cloud
    • Experience with Public cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
    • Experience with Private hosting (Private data centers, Rackspace, etc...)
  • Interaction & Communication
    • Good social interaction with the immediate team as well as other teams
    • Ability to work in an extremely geographically distributed company
    • Excellent communication skills across multiple mediums.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science

The anticipated TTC range for this role is 112,105.50 - 149,474.00 - 190,664.00 USD Annual.
