Position Summary

Pennsylvania, Remote

Thales is looking for a Software Development Intern whose core work, with supervision, on some of the following: development of modules for legacy C++ and Java application, Unit Tests and various document parsers.

The Software Development Intern will consult with the Team Lead on the development standards and best practices to guarantee the modules are functional, maintainable, well documented and fulfilling the required definition of Done.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Software Development Intern expected daily to:

Work, with supervision, development of modules for legacy C++ and Java applications, document parsers, developing unit tests and troubleshooting of a Java code. Must have a keen attention to detail. Perform research and documentation duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Computer Science, Information Systems or Mathematics BS program.

  • Hands on experience with: C++ and Java, and Git. Any Python and ML-related experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with S.O.L.I.D. OO principles.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.

  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
