ORGANISATION CONTEXT
The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, is providing leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.
The AMS business manages 11% of the world's airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is the global market leader in airspace management solutions. In Singapore, the business focus is the delivery and support of ATM solutions in the Asia Pacific region.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
In this role you will work in an international multidisciplinary team focused on the Verification and Validation of our ATM solution in order to confirm compliance to requirements and the fitness for purpose in accordance with Operational Scenarios. You will be responsible to lead the team in the design and execution of the procedures and scenarios.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead V&V planning and backlog refinement, including effort estimation for modification proposals to the baseline within projects/bids.
• Report regularly and promptly on test artifact development against agreed plan and budget.
• Report regularly and promptly on testing progress against agreed plan and budget.
• Support the Engineering Delivery Manager with:
o recommendations to improve performance/productivity
o early risk identification, proposing solutions and executing mitigation actions
o input into planning and coordination of program integration activities
• Lead technical workshops including Test Procedure and Test Readiness Review (internally, with suppliers, and with the Customer).
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate V&V testing activities.
• Proactively participate in System Requirement Analysis workshops internally, with suppliers and with the Customer to support V&V topics.
• Contribute to System Requirement Analysis to ensure requirements are testable and to define Verification Method(s), Phase(s) and Scenarios.
• Lead the verification and validation execution in accordance with project plans/schedules at the relevant locations (Thales, supplier and/or customer premises).
• Lead the verification and validation execution during formal Customer activities (Acceptance Verification & Validation – AV&V).
• Ensure test results are well captured and accurate in the project Test Management System and defects in the Defect Management System.
• Contribute to the Defect CCB by providing summary defect status and impact assessments.
• Track/verify/validate defect corrections including regression testing.
• Maintain and retest test procedures as requirements change.
• Produce Test Procedure Books and Test Reports.
• Ensure best-practice sharing and capitalisation by curating technical documentation, lessons learned and case studies related to V&V.
• Contribute to the development of V&V policies, processes and procedures for best practice.
• Mentor and support personnel involved in V&V activities; contribute to succession plans for key V&V roles.
• Work in accordance with Thales processes and practices and contribute to their improvement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
Essential Experience
• Test Engineering / Test Analyst experience of large, complex, real-time software-based systems (7+ years)
• Experience in Air Traffic Management Verification and Validation Scenario design and execution
• ATM experience in the following areas:
o Airspace
o Coordination
o ATM HMI
o Interpartition
o Adaptation/Configuration
• Experience with Air Traffic Management standards e.g., ICAO, Eurocontrol, AID
• Application of domain knowledge to high-value complex design, development and integration projects.
• Proven experience in conducting objective reviews of verification and validation artefacts
• Proven problem identification and analysis skills and system requirements analysis skills
• Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment
• A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
• Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessary
Desirable
• Experience in Air Traffic Management Operations
• Experience in System Engineering tools e.g., Polarion, DOORs, Jira
• Experience in Verification and Validation Tools e.g., Vivaldi, Jira
• Experience in working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB)
• Advanced Test Analyst CTAL-TA Certification
