YOUR ROLE
As our Security Consultant you will be responsible for conducting complex Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities, within large and complex Government and Commercial projects. The role will play a critical part in proactively striving to improve the security capabilities within client organisations, delivering high quality outcomes, and ensuring consultants are performing to their maximum potential while continuously developing strong stakeholder relationships with client key stakeholders across the Thales Group.

  • Leverage Thales Group’s broad capabilities to deliver multi-service security solutions
  • Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments and support remediation efforts
  • Contribute to security documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with IT, risk, and business stakeholders
  • Apply security frameworks including ASD Essential Eight, ISM, ISO27001/27002, NIST, and Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework
  • Stay informed on emerging security risks, controls, regulations, and industry trends
  • Develop and deliver training materials for public and private audiences
  • Enhance and improve company methodologies to provide effective security and risk advice
     

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
To be successful in this role you will bring the following experience and skillset:

  • Ideally have 4-5 years’ experience in cyber security, ICT, or related fields
  • Proficient in best practice frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and ASD Essential Eight
  • Able to independently deliver high-quality work on Governance, Risk, and Compliance projects
  • Holding or pursuing professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISK, ISO27001 LA/LI, PCI DSS QSA)
  • Confident communicator capable of advising security professionals and executives
  • Strong team player focused on collaborative goal achievement
  • Flexible and motivated to engage across diverse project types
