Context

The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in facilitating agile practices within the development team, ensuring team success through host leadership and a strong commitment to agile values. The role includes both internal and external responsibilities—coaching team members, supporting product owners, fostering psychological safety, and protecting the team from external interruptions. The Scrum Master works closely with different stakeholders to optimize delivery, manage skills, and create a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

What you will do:

• Serve as a servant leader and orchestrate an agile culture within the team.
•  Lead and facilitate all team agile rituals and events, ensuring process mastery and effective follow-up of resulting actions.
• Proactively identify, track, remove or escalate impediments, risks and dependencies to maintain flow and protect team delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with and mentor the Product Owner (PO) to manage, refine and prioritize the team backlog.
• Guide the team to use effective product management and quality practices.
• Visualize all work, measure and optimize value flow within the team.
• Foster a high-performing team environment, supporting psychological safety, transparency, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Support the development of T-shaped capabilities within the team to promote cross-functionality and reduce dependencies.
• Ensure accurate reporting and update of team activities in tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Ensure logging discipline within the team, including timely and accurate updates, correct worklog allocation and consistency.
• Monitor and report Jira completion rate on a recurring basis, per team member and/or per team, according to Delivery expectations.
• Ensure the reliability of delivery data used for KPI reporting, capitalization, RCA, forecasting and decision making
• Represent the agile team in Agile meetings and events.
• Provide visibility on team contributions, delivery metrics and progress, such as burndown charts, velocity, capacity, blockers, risks and improvement actions.
• Follow up delivery indicators, deviations and improvement actions, and escalate risks or issues to the relevant stakeholders when needed.
• Support the application of AMS Delivery processes, ways of working and reporting rules within the team.
• Perform management activities by delegation, including leave validation and hours logging for capitalization and progress measurement.
• Gather and capitalize data on team capacity before Sprint Planning, including leaves, extra hours, training hours and other relevant availability constraints.

Required competencies/experience:

• Deep understanding of agile and lean values, principles, and practices.
• Experience in facilitating agile ceremonies and team events.
• Proficiency in using agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and other reporting tools.
• Ability to coach teams and Product Owners in backlog refinement, product management, and build-in quality practices.
• Skilled in identifying and proactively removing impediments and dependencies.
• Experience with performance assessment and development of team skillsets, including T-shaped skills for software engineering (SE), software (SW), and IVV work.
• Capability to report using engineering data and delivery metrics (burndown chart, velocity, predictability, etc.).
• Recognized problem-solving expertise
• Agile & SAFe methodologies
• PSM certification

Would be a plus:

• An understanding of requirements and configuration management, aeronautical Software and Hardware standard (e.g. ED-109/DO-278) and Air Traffic Control
