The Group has also established an MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) facility in Gurugram to provide comprehensive avionics maintenance and repair services to Indian airlines and support the growth of the local aviation industry.Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Senior Engineer role to be part of Hardware engineering team.
In this role you will be responsible for generating reliable, cost effective, manufacturable, customized design solutions, such as power supplies and chassis back-panels, for RADARs and other Defense products to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (UL, CE, MIL-STD, DO-160 etc.). You also perform trade analysis of design approaches, engineering simulations & modeling, derating analysis before finalizing the design.
Qualifications: B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent with 5yrs to 12 years of relevant experience.
Higher qualifications of Post-graduation and PhD are desirable. Working experience in RADARs, Avionics and Defense systems design is desirable
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Must have strong experience in Product design and development from requirements to Conceptual design to architectural design to detailed design and analysis
- Must have strong experience in back-panel PCB designs, (schematic, electronics analyses, wiring, interconnections, digital/analog/power supply signals analyses)
- Must have Strong knowledge in designing customized power conversion products (Switching power converters, DC-DC converter) utilizing elements required, control theory and loop compensation, magnetic design, EMI, component selection with required de-rating, schematic capture etc.
- Must have Knowledge on multiple conversion topologies (Buck-boost, flyback, Forward, Push-pull, full-bridge etc)
- Must have strong knowledge of using simulation tools (SPICE, Hyperlynx etc) for functional simulation and power integrity analyses
- Must have working experience of product performance evaluation (Hardware Verification) and product qualification to comply to MIL-STD and/or DO-160 standards
- Must have excellent troubleshooting skills on Electrical / Electronic boards to find the root cause and to propose the best solution
- Should have knowledge of magnetics (Common mode noise filters, current transformers, EMI/RFI filters, optimization of desired magnetics)
- Should have experience of working with multi-disciplinary team (For effective thermal design for power supply, understanding Load requirements, PCB layout team, Mechanical team, and suppliers)
- Should have an understanding and use of DFMEA, DFT and DFM tools
