About the team
The Above Water Systems business line is headquartered in the Netherlands and has over 3000 talented colleagues, offices and facilities in Germany, The United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Romania, Turkey and Portugal.

The Operations team is responsible for:

• Supervising the projects assigned to the various BL Domains, in compliance with the Group's MRBOA, MRPS and IGTR rules,
• Defining and implementing the MTIP,
• Supervising the various engineering, development, production, procurement, quality and services activities in the different BL Domains,
• Improving competitiveness and fostering synergies across the BL
• Controlling the major industrial investments, in cooperation with the Countries/GBUs concerned,
• Contributing to the development of strong Product Line Engineering across domains together with the PLMs and the Technical function,
• Managing the engineering expertise jointly with the Technical and the Human Resources functions of the BL AWS,
• Contributing to coordinated procurement and ensuring buying power. Ensure component and supplier harmonization where possible, in close cooperation with Thales Group Procurement,
• Ensuring development and deployment of common processes and supporting systems (e.g. for project management, engineering, reporting).
• Managing strategic Core/Non-Core and Make/Team/Buy Process

About the job  
The Operations Project Manager is responsible for successful delivery on operations projects. These projects can focus on different topics within the Operations scope, such as procurement improvements, footprint strategy development and implementation, competence center expansion or large industrial participation projects.

Typical projects require coordination across teams with participants from different functions and countries. Project definition, scope management, setting up a focused project delivery organization, project reporting and change management are always critical aspects for successful project delivery.

You function as the deputy of the business line director operations and will replace him in gates, steercos and reviews when applicable.

The responsibility includes:

• Manage the project objectives, scope, budget and planning;
• Create a project plan and ensure alignment on this plan with all stakeholders;
• Set up Project Governance – typically with a project team, several work package teams and a steering committee;
• Manage project stakeholders, ensure that there is good communication on project objectives, plan, status and issues;
• Identify and manage project risks and issues. Drive problem solving to mitigate risks and issues;
• Orchestrate necessary organization change management, including broader communication, training and other actions to ensure successful deployment;
• Ensure continuous improvement, by structured evaluation and taking lessons learned and sharing this with stakeholders.

The Operations Project Manager reports to the Operations Director of the business line Above Water Systems and is a member of both Operations Management Teams.

About you

• You have experience in one or several operations functions such as Engineering, Bid Management or Project Management.
• You have excellent communicative skills in all levels of the organization.
• You are sensitive to cultural differences and can successfully influence your stakeholders.
• You have a Master degree or act at that level
• You are open minded and thinks ‘outside in’
• You have experience in a high tech international environment
