The Material Planner is responsible to manage the supply of raw materials and consumables to support manufacturing operation for Singapore Card and Module Assembly production, and the procurement of wristbands and card bodies on an ad-hoc basis to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for inventory planning and ensure timely stock replenishment to maintain uninterrupted material supply.
- Determine purchase quantities and generate Purchase Requisitions by analysing demand forecast, historical consumption trend, inventory level, lead time, purchasing strategies, and replenishment rule.
- Monitor JIT items and trigger the delivery when stock is running low.
- Validate material availability to support new customer orders released to production.
- Analyse inventory level and make appropriate purchasing decision to effectively manage demand fluctuation, including increase or decrease in requirement.
- Ensure optimal stock balance to mitigate potential supply risk, overstock, or obsolescence.
- Support initiatives to achieve and maximize material cost-saving target.
- Collaborate with Purchasing team to expedite or defer deliveries to ensure continuity of material supply.
- Track supplier deliveries and follow up with Purchasing and suppliers to ensure on-time material availability.
- Ensure material availability for new product introduction, engineering changes, and production ramp-up.
- Manage material substitution, phase-in/phase-out activities, and material migration planning.
- Identify slow-moving, obsolete inventory and implement mitigation action to minimize inventory obsolescence.
- Coordinate new item creation, item activation, and price maintenance activities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve material-related issues impacting manufacturing operation and customer deliveries.
- Participate in projects focused on inventory optimization, lead-time reduction, cost savings, and new product introductions (NPI).
Requirements:
- Diploma/ Degree in Business Administration/Management or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years relevant working experience in material planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of inventory planning and control.
- Good knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and supply chain processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated, resilient, proactive, meticulous, and responsible, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
