Lead Logistics Specialist

Orlando, FL (Onsite)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Lead Logistics Specialist to oversee the logistics team and provide strategic direction for all warehouse operations. You will be responsible for managing daily workflows, resolving operational bottlenecks, and ensuring that all processes align with organizational goals. As the key liaison between the logistics team and management, you will ensure operational efficiency, maintain high levels of accuracy, and foster a collaborative and productive environment.

In this position, you will also be responsible for implementing process improvements, overseeing team development, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the logistics team, including LR4–LR6 level staff, and serve as the primary point of contact for escalation of logistics issues.
  • Ensure timely processing of all shipments and inventory movements, including the induction and extension of orders as required to support operational flow.
  • Lead cycle counting and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance, while maintaining oversight of order induction and extension processes.
  • Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks to optimize operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with management and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with management to establish and achieve KPIs related to inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, and warehouse efficiency, and provide reporting and insights on warehouse performance and operational improvements.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor team members by providing training and growth opportunities, ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, and support operations by working in any area within Materials as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6+ years of SAP experience with advanced knowledge in logistics functions.
  • 7+ years of experience in inventory control, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management, with experience leading logistics teams and improving operational efficiency.
  • Advanced Excel skills for complex data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in the best interest of the department, team, and business, and the ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks as required.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Operational Shifts (1st shift 7am – 5pm); (2nd shift 2pm – 12am); (3rd shift 7pm – 4am) may require rotation between all shifts as well as weekend and holiday work; available to work overtime.
  • Physical Environment: General office & warehouse environment.
  • Physical Demands: Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently; Standing stations, average walking of 5 miles per day, dragging, pulling heavy materials with assistance of jacks and lifts (manual and power), lifting, moving boxes, crates and carts constantly. Climbing step ladders between 2’ up to 10’ as part of regular responsibilities.
  • Travel: This position may require domestic travel, up to 5%.

Total Target Cash (TTC) 42,093.00 - 75,781.00 USD Annual

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company’s annual salary budget, the customer’s program requirements, and the company’s internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
