Our Underwater Systems team are proud to support the Royal Australian Navy, providing integrated mission-critical solutions to below-surface platforms. With access to some of the world’s most advanced technologies, our people enable naval forces around the world with our state-of-the-art Sonar and undersea combat systems.
Our Rockingham facility is a hub for maritime and land defence systems, and we’re expanding our HSE team to ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence across our operations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to support not just Rockingham but also two additional WA-based sites on an as-needed basis, giving you diverse exposure to different operational environments while building your HSE career.
Working primarily at our site in Rockingham on Whadjuk Nyoongarland, your role purpose is to -
- Support leaders at Rockingham and two additional WA sites, by providing practical HSE, compliance, injury management and Wellbeing advice
- Support risk management and assurance activities such as site inspections, audits, and hazard identification to promote a zero-harm environment
- Faciliate incident investigation, document findings, and recommend actions to reduce risk and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-site teams to deliver safety training, inductions, and emergency response activities.
- Contribute to environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, chemical safety, and EMS compliance.
- Travel occasionally to support other WA sites, gaining broader HSE experience in different operational settings.
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
- Certificate IV Work Health & Safety (Diploma in WHS is highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in HSE advisory roles delivering positive outcomes, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or high-risk industries.
- A strong understanding of WHS legislation, Safety Management Systems, and injury/incident management.
- Strong coaching and stakeholder engagement abilities with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
- Confident communicator who can influence, drive accountability and support cultural change at all levels of the workforce
- Ability to work autonomously as part of a wider national HSE team
- Ability to work site based

Good to Know
