Your mission
- Support the development of defence and industrial products and systems in the RF/HF, antenna, and communication domains, acting as a senior technical contributor to help managers manage multiple parallel programmes and priorities.
- Play an active role in bid management and technical offer preparation for defence and industrial customers, including architecture definition, technical compliance matrices, risk and opportunity analysis, and contributions to cost, schedule, and feasibility assessments.
- Contribute to technical arbitration across projects by analysing trade-offs between performance, cost, risk, qualification, and industrial constraints, consolidating inputs from hardware, software, systems, and industrial teams to support robust technical decisions.
- Support the Head of the Hardware Department in operational coordination activities, including workload balancing, prioritisation of critical topics, and identification of skills or resource bottlenecks, without direct people management responsibility.
- Act as a key coordination point in a matrix organisation, actively participating in technical, project, and cross-department meetings to ensure alignment between engineering, industrialisation, quality, supply chain, and programme management.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including program teams, partners, and defence/industrial customers, to clarify requirements, justify technical choices, manage technical discussions, and contribute to issue resolution.
- Ensure clear, structured, and concise communication of technical topics, adapting the level of detail to the audience, from engineering specialists to senior management, both in written technical documentation and in formal reviews.
- Collaborate effectively with international teams, partners, and customers in a defence and industrial context, leveraging fluency in English and French/Dutch and the ability to operate in multicultural, multi-site environments.
We are looking for
- an electronics engineer with 15+ years of experience in RF/HF hardware design, with a focus on antenna design, communications systems, and high-power applications
- proven track record in managing R&D initiatives and leading engineering teams
- expertise in analogue circuit simulation tools (Spice, ADS, MW Office)
- strong problem-solving, debugging, and failure-analysis skills
- experience with reliability analysis and optimization at board and product levels
- experience in military communications systems or railway safety solutions
- innovative, creative, and an avid learner with a wide interest in technology
- strong mental abstraction capacity and ability to work in international, cross‑functional teams
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a taste for international contacts
- fluency in English and French and/or Dutch.
