The Environment and Sustainability Advisor is responsible for partnering with the business leading the effective implementation and execution of
Environmental policy and operational matters across Thales operations in Australia.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Environment and Sustainability Advisor, you are accountable for:

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating operational environmental risks by gathering, analysing, and interpreting relevant data in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Work with site HSE teams to implement environmental initiatives, using data to monitor effectiveness and inform adjustments.
  • Collaborate with managers and employees across business units, using data insights to support the achievement of environmental goals and drive operational improvements.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards on environmental matters, trends, and initiatives for senior management, using data-driven insights to highlight priorities and recommend actions.
  • Assist in reviewing, monitoring, and providing assurance of regulatory compliance through data analysis and preparing evidence-based submissions within the Australian regulatory framework.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum AQF level 7 qualifications in environmental science or management (or similar)
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience leading environment and sustainability management inclusive of water management, air emissions, waste, energy management, circular economy, hazardous regulated substances and biodiversity.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the field of environment, management systems, assurance, regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Experience interacting with workers from management level through to the shop floor
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in communication, presentation, report writing, investigation and audit skills
