We are seeking a DO-178C Software Engineer responsible for developing and verifying software lifecycle artifacts for avionics software systems. The engineer will work across multiple lifecycle stages defined in DO-178C, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and defect resolution. The role requires strong expertise in embedded software development, requirements-based verification, and lifecycle compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop DO-178C DAL-B compliant avionics software in accordance with DO-178C objectives.
- Develop High-Level Requirements (HLR) and Low-level Requirements (LLR) ensuring clarity, completeness, and testability from upper-level artifacts.
- Develop and maintain embedded software code based on LLR and software design.
- Develop High-Level Test Cases (HLT) to verify compliance of software behavior with HLR.
- Develop Low-Level Test Cases (LLT) to verify detailed functional behavior defined in LLR.
- Review HLR, HLT, LLR, LLT, and source code to ensure correctness, completeness, and DO-178C compliance.
- Ensure bi-directional traceability between HLR, LLR, source code, and test cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software integration and certification activities.
Mandatory Skills
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle defined in DO-178C, particularly for DAL B/A avionics software.
- Proven experience in developing and reviewing software lifecycle artifacts, including HLR, LLR, HLT, LLT, and source code.
- Strong hands-on experience in embedded software development using C
- Good knowledge of real-time embedded systems.
- Ability to analyze defects, perform debugging, and implement bug fixes.
- Good Knowledge of configuration management tools such as git
- Good experience with software testing tools such as IBM RTRT
- Good experience with ARINC653 based IMA System
- Good experience with avionics interfaces such as ARINC429
- Good organizational abilities. Good interpersonal skills, writing & verbal skills
Desired Skills
- Experience on ARINC664 protocol
- Awareness of related aerospace standards such as ARP4754A and ARP4761.
- Experience with system-level testing.
- Familiarity with tool qualification standard such as DO-330.
