OUR TEAM

As part of our VTS business, our PRV team is primarily focused on the design, manufacture, delivery and support of protected mobility vehicles on a global scale. We have an excellent opportunity to join us as a Contract Manager based in our Eagle Farm, Brisbane office. In this role, you will apply sound contract and commercial acumen and judgement to complex programs thereby enabling successful program and business outcomes within the Thales Australia Protected Vehicles business.

This role is part of the Legal, Contracts, and Compliance (LC&C) function in Thales Australia and will operate within the Protected Vehicles business.

Working at our Brisbane, Eagle Farm office, on Jagera and Turrbul Land, some of your responsibilities include:

• Successful ownership of commercial issues in/across subcontracts to facilitate successful project delivery, including robust claims and contract changes management, and resolving high-stakes commercial matters with subcontractors.

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors within the assigned portfolio to deliver superior business outcomes.

• Support Procurement with subcontracting and relevant supplier management issues in accordance with Thales governance and processes.

• Develop flow downs from customer contracts in collaboration with other functions.

• Assist customer-facing / sell-side contract management as required, ensuring assigned subcontracts remain aligned to customer contracts and any contractual inter-dependency risks are identified and appropriately managed.

• Work closely with senior business leaders and management teams to provide LC&C input focused on high value, high risk matters.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

• Relevant degree in business, commerce, finance, accounting, law, or similar.

• Professional Commercial / Contract Management qualifications desirable.

• Excellent English language communication including written and verbal skills.

• 5yr + experience in commercial/contracts management role, or an equivalent time spent in a relevant professional field (e.g. quantity surveying, procurement) which includes buy-side contracts management experience.

• Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of complex subcontracts.

• Defence industry and contracting (e.g. ASDEFCON) experience desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to engage successfully with customers and subcontractors to achieve outcomes in a high complexity environment.

• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence with internal and external stakeholders.

• Application of risk and opportunity management.
