Thales are looking to hire an Asset Manager to lead, deliver, optimise and evolve the performance of our assets. Ensuring maximum value for our customers and positioning Thales as the Gold Standard in Asset Management across the industry. You will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, leading a high‑performing team, engaging key stakeholders, and shaping the processes, tools and standards that underpin our reputation and capability.

What will you deliver?

As an Asset Manager, you will be accountable for the performance, optimisation and compliance of the asset portfolio, while leading a team and driving continuous improvement across the function.

  • Asset management mentorship and support to Asset stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative culture focused on best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs, support professional development and onboard new team members effectively.
  • Align asset management activities with organisational strategy, supporting budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Translate departmental goals into clear operational objectives for the team.
  • Set and monitor performance targets, address issues promptly and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor contract and asset performance, recommending adjustments where needed.
  • Implement asset management strategies and policies to maximise value and efficiency.
  • Analyse asset trends, operational data and performance indicators to inform decisions.
  • Oversee the UWS General Projects asset portfolio, ensuring full regulatory and standards, as well as Contract compliance.
  • Conduct forecasting, resource reviews, risk assessments and customer engagement analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align initiatives and support Thales’ ambition to achieve industry‑recognised Gold Standard status.
  • Communicate asset management policies and performance effectively across stakeholder groups.
  • Identify and lead process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce cost and optimise asset utilisation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national and international regulations.
  • Identify asset‑related risks and implement robust mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc asset/material delivery performance reports with insights and recommendations to senior management and as necessary to Customers.
  • Asset Management Resource and other related cost estimates in support of bids/proposals.
  • Prioritisation of Assets/Material and related activities in relation to risks/impact to the business / our Customers
  • Import values and Use agreed in support of UK Import Clearance, and subsequent management, e.g. Inwards Processing Relief (IPR)
  • Initiate Sales and Repair Orders
  • Support the Export process to ensure all data requirements are satisfied and maintained in a timely manner.
  • Contract and other regulatory requirements flowed down to ensure Assets are dispositioned appropriately.

Who are we looking for?

You will bring a strong operational mindset, leadership capability and experience in asset management within a complex environment.

Experience & Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and calm under pressure.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of Customer/GFE and asset management practices.
  • Demonstrable commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.  Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.  In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
