About SyntheticFi

SyntheticFi is a WealthTech startup backed by VCs like Social Leverage and YCombinator. We help financial advisors unlock the value of client portfolios through securities-backed loans powered by box spread, an innovative derivatives strategy that is gaining rapid adoption.

Financial Advisors love SyntheticFi because we give RIAs better lending products than what wirehouses offer, and turn it into a competitive advantage.

We are headquartered in San Francisco with a remote team of around 15 people. Each of us is passionate about our own area of expertise. Our mission is to democratize institutional-grade financial tools and give individuals, families, and advisors smarter ways to borrow.

We’ve been featured on Bloomberg, Kitces, CBOE, and FA magazine.

As a growing startup, we take good care of team members and encourage team members to take care of each other too. We offer a full suite of 401K, medical, dental, vision insurance coverage.

Position Overview

The Implementation Coordinator is the dedicated "bridge" between high-level strategy and operational execution. You are the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of our product. Our users will look towards you for guidance in difficult scenarios. You need to be quick on your feet, thrive in chaos, excel at prioritization, and handle stressful situations well.

This is a client-facing role. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for Financial Advisors who have questions about how our product works, how to implement our product within their existing account setup, and how to get their clients across the finish line.

As a relentless problem solver, you will own the implementation pipeline, identifying and clearing the operational hurdles that stand between a client and their capital. If an advisor has a funding deadline, you are the person who makes sure they hit it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapid Problem Solving: Act as the "closer" for client funding. Identify bottlenecks in the onboarding and implementation process and resolve them immediately to ensure capital is available when clients need it.
  • Advisor Concierge: Be the primary point of contact for advisors during the funding lifecycle. Provide clear, actionable answers to questions regarding trade status, margin requirements, and onboarding requirements.
  • Funding Execution Support: Coordinate with our Operations Specialists to push through documentation and custodial approvals. You are the internal advocate for the advisor’s sense of urgency.
  • Margin & Collateral Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve margin-related issues at the custodian level that might prevent or delay a trade from being executed.
  • Workflow Optimization: Continuously look for ways to shave hours or days off the implementation timeline, ensuring SyntheticFi remains the fastest way for advisors to secure client loans.
  • Educational Content: Help develop FAQs, whitepapers, and internal "cheat sheets" to streamline the explanation of box spread mechanics and margin rules.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptional Problem-Solving Skills: You thrive under pressure and enjoy the "puzzle" of navigating custodial bureaucracy to get a deal done. You are proactive and don't wait for instructions when a need is on the line.
  • Client-First Mindset: Ability to communicate complex requirements to advisors in a way that is simple, reassuring, and focused on the end goal: funding their client.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You should be able to model out trade scenarios and margin impacts quickly.
  • Financial Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of financial markets, with demonstrable knowledge of options and derivatives.
  • Resourcefulness: If a standard process isn't working, you find a creative way to achieve the desired result.
  • Compliance: Able to pass Series 65 exam to be an Investment Advisor Representative.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in trade support, specialized brokerage operations, or a RIA-facing role.
  • Technical skills: Can write SQL, create reporting dashboard, use low-code tools such as Retool and Zapier.
  • Custodial Familiarity: Experience navigating the back-end systems of major custodians like Charles Schwab, Fidelity, or Pershing.
