INDUSTRIAL PAINTER (STARSHIP LAUNCH HARDWARE)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sand blast to acceptable industry standards
Safely operate spray coating equipment to industrial and commercial standards
Safely operate air tools, pressure feed tanks, and airless pumps
Brush and roll industrial and commercial coatings
Perform corrosion control on carbon steel/ stainless steel using pneumatic air tools, needle guns, and scalers
Safely operate aerial platforms, forklifts, and heavy equipment
Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc.
Work with contractors daily to ensure SpaceX standards are being met

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
1+ years of industrial painting experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of industrial painting experience and corrosion control experience
Experience with NACE, MSDS, and EPA regulation codes or industry standards
Understanding of heavy equipment safety standards
Familiarity with paint processes and applications
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Self-motivated individual able to work independently or in a team environment and willing to learn

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Ability to work the following shift:
- Monday – Friday 6:00am – 4:30pm
Ability to work nights & weekends when needed to meet critical launch milestones
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted
Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand
Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 100 feet)
Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
Travel to other sites may be required, up to 15% of the time
