Fullstack Software Engineer

Soraban (YC21) builds AI-powered workflow automation for modern accounting firms. Our platform helps tax firms automate client intake, document processing, preparation workflows, and service delivery. We’re hiring multiple fullstack engineers across all levels of seniority to help us build polished, end-to-end experiences as customer demand explodes.

We’re an onsite engineering team, with offices in San Francisco, CA and Tempe, AZ.

What You’ll Own & Drive

• Product Features: Design, build, and ship fullstack features.
• UI & UX Quality: Work closely with designers to bring polished, responsive, and intuitive experiences to life.
• Customer-Centric Development: Think deeply about customer problems and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Fast Iteration & Ownership: Deliver meaningful improvements every week with high autonomy and high standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, support, and leadership to prioritize, scope, and ship work that matters.
• Code Quality: Help establish engineering patterns that balance speed, maintainability, and performance.

Skills & experience we're looking for:

• 5+ years of cumulative experience building and shipping products (both frontend and backend).
• Experience building production-grade apps in React and Ruby on Rails. Some experience with Python would be nice to have, but not required.
• Passion for UI/UX and a strong product sensibility.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional partners.

• You can think from customer’s perspective and iterate extremely quickly.
• You are a self-starter who doesn't need to be micromanaged.
• You are persistent and determined. You are the type of person who will go the distance to get the job done.
• You've directly worked with a founder before.

Interview Process

We move fast at Soraban so we've designed our interview process to look for candidates who can hit the ground running quickly.

3. Technical interview over Zoom
4. Conversation with the CEO
5. Offer

The typical interview process should take 14 days from start to finish. That said, we have moved more quickly and look to accommodate candidates who might have a short timeline or competing offers. The more information you can share about your situation and where you are in the process, the more we can either attempt to expedite/match, or save you time if we cannot.
