Position Overview

Saronic Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Supervisor to join our growing production team. This role is responsible for overseeing inspection activities and leading a team of Quality Inspectors to ensure our autonomous surface vessels meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance prior to delivery.

The Quality Supervisor will work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to maintain compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is shift-flexible, highly organized, and possesses strong technical inspection knowledge along with leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Testing

    • Oversee and guide Quality Inspectors in conducting inspections and tests on components, assemblies, and finished vessels to verify compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

    • Ensure consistent application of inspection procedures across shifts and production areas.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions.

    • Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to engineering and production teams to support timely resolution.

    Compliance & Quality Standards

    • Ensure team adherence to internal quality policies, procedures, and applicable industry standards, including DoD-related requirements.

    • Monitor inspection activities and enforce quality protocols across production operations.

    Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis

    • Identify defects or deviations from specifications and lead investigations into root causes.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the development and refinement of quality control procedures and best practices.

    • Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality, efficiency, and consistency.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with engineering, production, and suppliers to address quality issues and support the successful delivery of autonomous surface vessels.

    Leadership

    • Lead and coordinate inspection activities across shifts while setting the standard for quality performance and accountability.

    • Ensure alignment with company standards, production goals, and quality expectations.

    Training & Development

    • Assist with onboarding and training new Quality Inspectors on inspection techniques, documentation processes, and quality standards.

    • Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to support team development.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in aerospace, defense, maritime, or advanced manufacturing environments.

  • 1+ years of experience leading or mentoring technical staff.

  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection methodologies, and root cause analysis.

  • Proficiency with inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements, including DoD quality expectations.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
