Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer Senior Systems Engineer to work in a collaborative, iterative development environment. Raytheon develops world-class satellite ground systems and counters national security threats through cyber solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to analyze, decompose, and implement customer objectives and needs into actionable system requirements and designs.

  • Collaborate within an Agile product team to deliver tangible, value-added work products that meet program objectives.

  • Define, analyze, and manage system interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with overall system architecture.

  • Maintain a systems-level perspective, ensuring that operational end goals are kept in focus from the start through program execution.

  • Actively participate in working groups, technical exchanges, and collaboration sessions with customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and solutions.

  • Support the development and delivery of systems engineering artifacts, including requirements, architecture, models, and design documentation.

  • Work within a closed area lab in Aurora, Colorado

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment

  • Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations)

  • Experience working in Agile development environments, including participation in product teams.

  • Experience maintaining a system-level perspective while driving detailed design and implementation activities.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DOD TS/SCI is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience to engage effectively with customers and external partners, fostering collaboration and alignment.

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.

  • Experience with industry-standard MBSE tools such as Cameo, or similar.

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
